The Klamath-Lake Regional Housing Center (KLRHC) assists eligible homebuyers in Klamath and Lake Counties in South Central Oregon to obtain decent, safe, structurally sound, and affordable homes. We offer the following programs and services:

ABCs of Home buying course – learn from the professionals about the steps in home buying. Classes are currently offered once a quarter, but additional classes may be added based on demand.

Referrals to mortgage loan programs, such as:

Rural Development loans, available to low-income homebuyers - below market interest rates.

Oregon Bond Fund loans - below market interest rates.

Pre-Purchase Counseling – This is a service offered for individuals with credit problems or difficulty meeting the requirements needed to obtain a mortgage from one of our partners. The counseling consists of resolving credit issues, assisting in budgeting, and developing a plan of action for improving credit and/or budget issues, so that the individual can qualify for the programs offered.
KLRHC offers assistance to existing homeowners through:

Reverse Mortgage Counseling (Seniors 62 or older) – meet with the housing coordinator staff to discuss financial needs, review AARP produced video on Reverse Mortgage options and review reference materials to assist with your decision. If the decision is to obtain a reverse mortgage, we will refer you to area lenders to assist in the process.

Housing Rehabilitation referral – this program offers 2% deferred loans to help worth repairs to make your home a healthy, safe environment.
